Why is my transcript shorter than my recording?

AudioScribe's free plan transcribes the first 25 minutes of each file you upload, so a longer recording gets a shorter transcript. Upgrading to Pro, our paid plan, removes that limit for files you upload afterward — it doesn't extend a file you've already uploaded. To get the full transcript, upload the original recording again after you upgrade.

How much gets transcribed

The free tool's 5-minute preview and the free account's 25-minute limit are separate. On a free account, a longer recording is shortened to 25 minutes before it's transcribed, so the audio or video in your library is the 25-minute version too, and the transcript matches it.

How to get the full transcript

1. Find your original recording. You'll need the original file — the copy in AudioScribe is the shortened one.
2. Upgrade to Pro. Open the Plans page in Settings and upgrade to Pro.
3. Upload the original again. Import it the same way you did before — see how to upload and transcribe audio or video. It's transcribed in full as a new conversation.
4. Optional: remove the shorter version. The 25-minute conversation stays in your library until you delete it.
